During 2007, the Department of Enterprise Trade & Employment launched the National Employment Rights Authority (NERA). The NERA Inspector’s role is to seek compliance and rectification of any breaches in Employment Legislation. Where necessary NERA have recourse to legal proceedings. They have the authority to enter any premises at a reasonable time, inspect records, photocopy files/records and interview and require information from any relevant person.

Woman Awarded €8,000 for Unfair Dismissal

ANJA Schille of Harbour View, Castle Hill, Carlingford was this week awarded €8,000 in compensation by the Employment Appeals Tribunal in an unfair dismissals case against the Four Seasons Hotel in Carlingford.
